Community Voices – Creative Citizen Studios

Contemporary Craft is please to present Community Voices, on view in the Gerri Kay Exhibition Cases. Community Voices features artists from Creative Citizen Studios (CCS), a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that provides inclusive arts education and professional development for artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through workshops, community collaborations, and exhibitions, CCS empowers artists to express their unique voices, build confidence, and engage meaningfully with the broader arts community.

CCS has been a valued partner of Contemporary Craft’s Partner in Craft program since 2022. In Summer 2026, two programs were held at Contemporary Craft: Batik Technique with Saihou Njie and Floor Loom Weaving with Margaret Dugger. This exhibition features collaborative work created during the Batik program alongside individual pieces made by artists in these collaborative programs.
