Founded in New Orleans in 2021 and now based in Cleveland, Ohio, SHED Projects is a nonprofit organization dedicated to contemporary art, experimental projects, and artist-centered research. Operating from an 1857 historic landmark in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood, SHED produces exhibitions, publications, performances, educational programs, and long-term collaborations that explore the intersections of visual culture, family life, place, and lived experience.
Rather than functioning as a traditional gallery, SHED supports projects that prioritize experimentation, process, and conversation—creating space for artists to take risks, develop new ideas, and engage audiences through meaningful encounters with contemporary art. Its programming includes exhibitions, One Piece Viewings, workshops, artist collaborations, film screenings, and printed matter.
