Museum of Cold

The Museum of Cold is an exhibition space that explores the relationship between cold climate and artistic expression, spotlighting works born from or shaped by cold. The project showcases pieces that reflect both the hardship and majesty of winter. From arcane depictions of snow-drift landscapes to contemporary installation artists working with cold-weather symbolism and the psychology of isolation, the MoC offers a multisensory archive of how artists respond to, endure, and transform cold into creation.

The Museum of Cold was established in 2026 by D. Sloan, editor of TRANSVERSALS journal (transversals.net) and proprietor of bōtan, a flower studio in the Allentown Historic District of Buffalo, New York.

We currently hold hours Saturdays from 12 to 5pm, during Allentown's First Friday Art Walk, and by appointment. To schedule a time to visit, reach out to info@museumofcold.com.
