112th Annual Exhibition: Near Here - Robert Morris University

The Associated Artists of Pittsburgh is proud to present the 112th Annual Exhibition: Near Here, juried and curated by Allison Lacher. The exhibition spans a network of university galleries throughout Western Pennsylvania in the cultural orbit of Pittsburgh: the Media Arts Gallery at Robert Morris University, the Martha Gault Gallery at Slippery Rock University, the Kipp Gallery at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the Harlan and Jodee Harris Galleries at Seton Hill University. The 112th Annual Exhibition: Near Here opens September 11th, 5pm-8pm, at the Media Arts Gallery at Robert Morris University.

The 112th Annual has a theme of nearness and invites viewers to consider what it means to be near and the conditions through which nearness is formed. With this theme, all 4 locations have a throughline making a multi-show exhibition feel whole. Each location also holds its own theme as part of nearness; Reach:  Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Hold: Robert Morris University, Suspend: Slippery Rock University, and Return: Seton Hill.

Available at the exhibitions are the 112th Annual catalog that features an essay by Allison Lacher and all the work that is being presented in the 4 locations. Along with the catalogs are customs stickers for each gallery that can be collected and act as stamps to mark your visit through the exhibition.

Each location has its own programming as well. An Opening Reception Friday, September 11, 5-8pm at the Media Arts Gallery, Robert Morris University, an Artist Panel, Saturday, September 26, 12-4pm at the Kipp Gallery, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, A Juror Tour, Saturday, October 24, 12-4pm, Martha Gault Gallery, Slippery Rock University and a Closing Reception, Friday, November 21, 6-9pm, Harlan and Jodee Harris Galleries, Seton Hill University.
